How Can I Help?
Our Members are stictly volunteers who are dedicated to the well being of the
Pekingese Breed. We function as a safety net to those Pekingese that are
left in shelters, abandoned and owner surrendered. These precious animals
enter our program through no fault of their own.
Many of us have the pleasure of being owned by a Pekingese and would be glad
in helping you with your decision to determine if the Pekingese is the breed
for your family and lifestyle.
We need your help. Below is a smorgasbord of opportunities. Pick one or more
and GET INVOLVED.
- By spaying and neutering your pet, you are doing your part to help
alleviate the crisis of pet overpopulation.
- Think before you buy an animal. ALL dogs need training and the pekingese breed can
need a little extra TLC (but it is worth it!). Will you have the time and
the patience for them?
- Volunteer for the PUR. Pekingese Underground Railroad is the system we have for
transporting Pekingese to foster homes and adoptive homes. All you need is a
vehicle and some spare time. Contact a member for more
information.
- We are also raising funds to help other Pekingese rescue organizations in
the Northeast region to assist in the cost of much needed medical care. As
the organization grows we hope to be able to reach out to those Pekingese in
the region that may be experiencing special medical circumstances and are in
need of financial assistance. We hope our efforts for funding will help
those unfortunate Pekes that otherwise would not have a chance.

information.
- Educate yourself before buying a pekingese, or any animal.
- Be an advocate. If you know someone is looking for a dog, send them to our website.
